Wartime Farm: The Frontline of Freedom and Lessons for Tomorrow.

Join Dr Alex Langlands as he provides a behind the scenes talk on the making of the BBC’s popular Wartime Farm. Charged with farming some of the trickiest soils in south Hampshire, Alex and team set about recreating the circumstances British farmers were confronted with in 1939-45. Drastic measures were required to avert starvation at a national level and many of the impacts of the decisions made then can still be felt today. Alex says that making the Wartime Farm was hugely fun and informative but asks whether there are any parallels between the challenges faced by British farmers today and those of yesteryear.
